A civic seal for a town that has one. SHREWSBURY and PA ringed in gold on a deep navy disc, the founding year and a single star at the centre, HOMETOWN PRIDE around the base. Looks like it was stamped on a document.

Two versions, one shirt. On light colours the full navy disc prints solid. On Black, Dark Grey Heather and Navy the disc drops away entirely — just the gold ring and cream type — so it reads as an emblem rather than a navy patch stuck on a dark shirt.

One Mile Long, Half a Mile Wide

When the Pennsylvania General Assembly incorporated the Borough of Shrewsbury on August 9, 1834, it drew an actual boundary — and that boundary says everything about how this town works.

A Town Shaped Like a Road

The borough as chartered measured roughly one mile long and half a mile wide, stretched lengthwise along the York–Baltimore Turnpike, with the centre of town at the crossroads. Not a square. Not a grid radiating from a courthouse. A ribbon along a road.

That shape wasn’t an accident. Shrewsbury existed because the turnpike ran through it, so the town grew the way traffic moved — north and south, long and thin. Walk Main Street today and you’re walking the reason the borough has the outline it does.

The Crossroads at the Centre

The charter put the borough centre at the crossroads, and it has stayed the heart of town ever since. The Shrewsbury Historic District, added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 22, 1984, takes in 152 contributing buildings clustered around it — among them the Odd Fellows Hall of 1853 and two Romanesque Revival churches.
